Tokki Ahn is a college student of indeterminable age (early 20s). They've lived what they consider to be a quiet life, mostly going through the motions to graduate school and get some kind of job to sustain themselves - though they aren't particularly passionate about their studies. They have a small group of friends they hang out with on occasion, but for the most part they live life listlessly.

Unbeknownst to them, they are watched over by what can only be considered a "guardian angel" of sorts - another version of themselves known simply as Tokki. Tokki is a playful creature who wants to live their own life to the fullest, though they are bound by Ahn's mortality - they cannot venture too far from Ahn, and if anything were to happen to Ahn, Tokki would also cease to exist.

 Tokki is invisible to all but a select few people. Ahn is unaware of their existence, and somewhere in the back of Tokki's mind they know that Ahn must never know.

Although Tokki is invisible and unable to interact with most people, they can still interact with physical objects if they wish, not unlike a ghost. They like to cause problems and watch people react to the messes they make so long as Ahn isn't around, though they can typically be reeled in by the people who can perceive them. As for the people who can see them, it's unknown why they are able to do so or what link they share. But, well...
